[...] I’m not judging anyone here. (I know how hard it is to not blog about personal dealings for its therapeutic effects.) It’s just another proof that not everyone blogs the same way, much less calls their blog a “blog” but their “LJ” and so forth. Not everyone has explored all possibilities of publishing online, much less made enough money off it to quit one’s job (am no problogger though). And not everyone has recognized that the underlying structure of reverse chronological posts—usually equipped with commenting systems, trackbacks, and Atom/RSS feeds—is present in all these seemingly different services, be it LiveJournal, TypePad, MovableType, WordPress, Vox, Multiply, Friendster, MySpace, Joomla, Drupal, and so on. (Yes I know that was a very long sentence.) [...]

[...] Once more, this proves we are slaves to social conditioning. Because sitting languidly on a “throne” was deemed more civilized than the ways of crude native folk, we have embraced it as the proper way to sit. If you have ever felt, as many, many people do, that after you have evacuated, there is still something left, here is the reason: [...]

@Corsarius: Haha. It's more than CW... It's copyblogging.

@Garro, Tweety: I agree with both of you. That's why I reacted that way -- he may have generalized a bit too much.

Quite interesting. I'm not converted, though.

Although I believe that the way to wealth is not through being an employee but being an entrepreneur, you still need capital. You gotta start somewhere.

And (quite defensively) I like working. I like the feeling of being productive. :p

I kinda agree with Steve, though I'm betting that he doesn't know how strong the social conditioning is here. it's enough to convince people that they're happy (or at least content) with what they do, and if people are happy, why take that away from them? allegory of the cave.

I've seen a couple of our friends slip into that category.

also, the "enlightened" need a herd of cows to exploit. hahaha!
