I happen to like a bit of sparkle... Wah~! I even have a FunWall on Facebook because of that. But I don't like too much sparkle either. I just like it every once in a while. I think that it is possible to have a bit of sparkly stuff but I clicked two of the sites (which both happen to be part of the hbwn) and they seem to have the same basic layout. Hmm. Maybe the network has a pre-set made of templates which they could choose from and they're locked on to using those? I don't know really.

I like usable websites. I also like cute ones. I believe that there's a way to balance the two things :) A blog (or a website) would be a reflection of the personality of the blogger (or team or webmaster, whatever) behind it so it should be something that he/she would be able to balance somehow. Having too many animated GIF's is so late 90s haha (when most people were on Geocities)! Anyhow, yeah, I think balance is the key :) And people have to learn that!

Tina, you know what, it's a little easier to forgive the "crime" when it's done by someone who's in their teens (or tweens or pre-teens). The thing is, those blogs are trying to be helpful sources of information.

Friendster and MySpace profiles can crash my browser if they try hard enough.

Riz, that's comforting. I'm quite the ranter around these parts.

Hi, I bloghopped over here. :P

Anyway, I have to admit that I used to own a site sorta like that, but that was like, 5 years ago or something? Haha. Blogs were not yet popular then, so the more moving stuff there is on the page, the better! Or so I thought. :)) Good thing I grew out of it soon, after realizing that "cute" (or "kawaii", which is what I remember from back then) is not so nice to look at.

I normally avoid those sites, as well as those ANNOYING Friendster profiles where you can read nothing from all the blinking and the crazy backgrounds. Bah.

I can imagine the graphics in these pages haunting Ia in her sleep. Who would've guessed that Tink, Alice, and the Care Bears would be the stuff of nightmares?

Oh no, they just gave Ia her worst nightmare - the badly designed glittery animated blogs. And it's spreading everywhere! The horror, the horror!!!

Lol I can imagine Ia screaming right now. :P
